A founding principal of JSA, Jim has helped lead the company's evolution into a national firm, and established the Studio structure it maintains today. Directly involved in Healthcare, Hospitality, Housing and Senior Living, he has most recently led the Senior Living Studio to national prominence. His work with environments for dementia, assisted living and retirement communities resulted in his elevation to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows. While remaining connected to the Studios, especially Senior Living and Housing, Jim is also responsible for JSA's overall marketing and business development. Along with Jim Somes, FAIA, he founded the company in 1980; he received his Architectural degree from Syracuse University and his Engineering degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
